JBW Group Chooses Haulmont Technology for New Enforcement Control System

Addison Lee’s Software Partner to Apply GPS-Based Real Time Fleet Management to Bailiff Industry

Ethical debt management and enforcement organisation, JBW Group has selected Haulmont Technology to develop and implement a new Enforcement Control System that will automate business processes and optimise fleet management and case allocation across all bailiff operations.

The new system will be based on Haulmont’s Open Source CUBA Platform and will feature automated real time fleet management, dynamic task allocation, routing and scheduling for JBW’s fleet of around 80 bailiffs and several ANPR (automatic number plate recognition) vans. Communication with bailiffs will be handled by a custom-designed Android app to enable full and accurate exchange of case and visit data between mobile devices and back-office systems, even in areas with poor signal coverage. The system will also feature a fully integrated GPS tracking and alert system to improve bailiff management and provide a full audit trail for handling customer queries.

Jamie Waller, JBW Group Managing Director said;

“This new system will play an important role in JBW’s plans for aggressive growth over the next few years. We expect to see real benefits in terms of productivity, efficiency and most importantly, customer service.

Panel Pcs From Blue Chip Technology

Blue Chip Technology is one of the UK’s leading designers and manufacturers of industrial computer platforms and panel PCs. With an outstanding portfolio Blue Chip Technology provide off-the-shelf products including COM boards, single board computers (SBCs), fanless embedded systems, rackmount computers, Panel PCs and digital signage hardware.

Blue Chip Technology have a track record of working with a range of industries including hospitals, assembly lines, rail networks and laboratories both in the UK and across the globe.

Single Board Computers and Panel PCs

Single board computers are entire computers built on a single circuit board. They are most commonly used for industrial purposes, often in situations where smaller, more power-efficient and reliable computers are needed.

A panel PC is a type of industrial computer. A display, usually an LCD (liquid crystal display) is integrated into the motherboard and electronics. Panel PCs range from lower cost types with no environmental sealing to the more expensive, heavy duty models which may be waterproof or even explosion proof. Panel PCs can also be custom designed and built to the requirements and budget of the customer.

Assistive Technology – Improving Special Education

INTRODUCTION

            Assistive technology refers to the collective process of design, development and deployment of hardware and software systems, with the intent to facilitate people with disabilities and enhance their functional performance[1]. There is a considerable amount of research being conducted in this particular field targeted at production of innovative methodologies and devices, which not only aid the impaired with every day tasks, but also help them in the learning and skill development process.

            Assistive technology finds its application at school in the form of various tools and techniques that assist the disabled students to improve their in class performance including knowledge absorption and personality development. With the advent of assistive technology, it has become possible to a great extent for the less fortunate to overcome the otherwise inevitable impediments in the learning process.

CLASSIFICATION

  The available support rendered by the technology can be classified as falling under three categories, depending upon the extent of support required and the available financial resources[2]. This includes Low, Mild and High assistive technology devices. Low assistive technology devices include support gadgets that do not involve electronics and do not require a battery for operation. Such devices easy to operate and are low in cost. Mild support strategies rely on simple electronics. These devices are not heavily dependent upon technological advancements. High assistive devices are electronically sophisticated. These employ modern day techniques as image processing, signal analysis and logic design to achieve the desired functionalities. Such devices require a processing unit. As a result, these are designed to work on a computer or in conjunction with an embedded processor or a microcontroller. The cost of such devices is significantly high, as is the complexity and effort involved in development process.

Engineering Pneumatic Systems Pneumatic Technology And Parts

Pneumatic technology has come a long way since itsinceptionin the 17thcentury bya German physicist. It wasn’t until 1829 however; a successful air compressor was patented using cylinders. The use of pneumatics has shaped history through its countless applications through inventions. Pneumatic technology was and is used in motors and tools in all type of industries. Pneumatic devices rely on compressed air or inert gases to generate it power. Combined with cylinders and valves, the equipment is often able to product large amount kinetic power.Valves located in the cylinder regulate the flow of compressed air or fluids as well as maintain the pressure inside the cylinder. There are hundreds of pneumatic tools for different occasions; Included in this list is nail guns, drills, air sanders, air staplers, all of which are powered air compressors. It’s important to the buy the proper air compressor for the equipment. Pneumatic suppliers are familiar with the equipment andcanhelp you choose the correct compressor in regards to size, air pressure and air flow capacities. The improper combination of parts could damage the tools or cause serious personal injury. Always wear proper safety while operating.
